A smash shot in badminton is used to hit the shuttlecock downward with power and speed, often to finish the rally or put the opponent under pressure. It’s good for pupils to learn because it introduces them to attacking strategies and develops their power, timing and accuracy.

**Badminton Smash Teaching Points**

- Played from the mid to forecourt
- Players should create a steep trajectory for the shuttle to travel
- Hit the shuttle at the highest point in front of you before going overhead
