Good technique is important when running around the posts in rounders. Both speed and balance are important in progressing around the posts. Players should always have the posts on their left hand side as they run.

Players must use good judgement when running around the posts to decide if they can complete a full or half rounder and also ensure they do not overtake a teammate.

## Running Bases in Rounders Teaching Points

- As soon as the decision has been made to run accelerate to first base
- Run slightly wide around the bases to avoid slowing down on the turns
- Keep your eyes on the next post and decide if you will run in or stay
- Make sure once you stop at a post you stay in contact with it until ready to run to the next one
- Always touch fourth base on the way past for the score to count
