Primary school tennis lessons plans are covered over four units across Key Stage 2 on The PE Hub platform. These tennis schemes focus on the main skills of the game in a progressive way to allow all children to start playing straight away.
We develop knowledge and understanding through fun modified tennis games and draw links with other net/wall games. Our primary tennis lesson plans focus on the basics, such as grip and stance all the way through to doubles positioning and everything in between.
Each unit contains
- 6 lesson plans, with starter activities, assessment for learning, skill development, cross-curricular links, teaching points and key questions.
- Diagrams
- Printable resources.
- Skills videos.
- Rules.
- Assessment.
Skills videos for tennis
Across the schemes of work, we have many tutorial videos to show you how to teach the main skills of tennis to your pupils. It doesn’t matter your own level of experience in teaching or playing tennis; our skills videos will give you all the confidence you need to show your class what to do.
Our tennis videos show a range of skill levels; from basic techniques such as hitting the ball off your own hand when first learning to overarm service for more capable and experience children.
