One footed balances

In gymnastics, children will learn a range of balances, including points and patches (balances on small and large body parts). Point balances can be one, two, three, four or even five-point balances! This gymnastics balance card shows a range of one-point balances for children to attempt and master.

You can make one-point balances more interesting and varied by changing the part of the body in contact with the floor, e.g., foot, bottom, back, and tummy. To further add interest, pupils can then change how they perform each type of balance by adding arm and leg extensions, making the shape small or wide, and so on. See the one-footed balance resource for some inspiration.
