- Try to stay on your toes so you can move around ready to play the shot
- Step with the same foot as your racquet hand towards the flight of the ball
- Turn your body sideways so your racquet shoulder points toward the net
- Swing the racquet from low to high to make contact with the ball
- Allow the racquet to swing and follow through
