Netball Positions & Court Markings

Every sport has its unique court, pitch or field markings. Even though modified versions of games are usually played in primary school, it is still possible to replicate the markings of the playing area to support the development and understanding of the game. You can download our netball positions and court markings resource below. At The PE Hub we follow the Bee Netball of stinger and fliers.

Only shooting players (Goal Shooter and Goal Attack) from the attacking team can score.

Key features of a netball court

  • A netball court is divided into thirds with shooting semicircles. A typical court is 30.5 meters long and 15.25 meters wide. Adapt the court size for your hall or playing area.
  • The centre circle is located at the centre of the court and all centre passes start here (after a goal is scored or to start or restart the game)
  • Each end of the court has a shooting semi-circle which contains the goalposts
  • There are zones and restrictions as to which area of the court players can go, see our resource for court positions and restrictions
